Equinoxious!
As
the sun heads south across the equator, Northwest New
Jersey will prove itself a popular stage for arts, crafts,
natural and historical celebrations all season, as autumn
arrives (Sunday 4:44pm) with a schedule of colorful programs.
The list is long this weekend so get an early start!
Soft and mellow autumn days can be intoxicating. For now, day = night, but the balance begins to tip! So make sure to keep an eye on our calendar for this and

Plan It, Plant It
Don't even think about hanging up your garden shoes; fall is the best time for planting! Find out why at this Saturday's (9/21) Fall Foliage Event at Donaldson
Greenhouse and Nursery in Hackettstown. An 11:15 seminar by expert, Paul Hand, will explore everything from which plants have the best fall color to fertilizing and pruning… all the info you need to choose, install and maintain your fall garden and landscape. And you can plant a colorful autumn inspired container for your porch, patio, or walkway at the Fall Container Workshop (Class size is limited and you must pre-register via by filling out the online registration form or by calling the greenhouse. Local Motion
Celebrate all things local at this weekend's Highlands Festival at Waterloo! The environmental festival showcases local food, music, arts, history and natural resources with interpretative trail walks, tours of restored buildings at Waterloo Village, an art show, workshops on environmental/local topics, and more! And twenty-one bands on two stages will revive the great tradition of concerts at Waterloo. Gate: $25/ $40 both days; $15/$25 with advance purchase. and Chili Cookoff on Saturday and Sunday (9/21-22).
Pro cowboys compete in saddle
bronc riding, bull riding, bareback bronc riding, calf
roping and bull dogging. Come early and sample a variety
of chilies from mild to hot and everywhere in between
at the Chili Cook-Off from 11:30am - 1:30pm. Rodeo begins
